22 Jul By 2116, We Might Never Stand Again
By the year 2116, we might never stand again. Yes, you heard that right … in 97 years, we might never stand!
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that, between 2007 and 2016, Americans are sitting an extra full hour per day. U.S. adults sit on average 6.4 hours per day during waking hours. If this 10-year trend continues, in 97 years, we’ll never stand.
I know I sit way too much. To overcome a sedentary lifestyle, I try to walk when I’m on the phone, use my standing desk, initiate walking meetings and block time to work out every day.
How many hours per day do you spend sitting? Get up and do something. Move your body & avoid becoming a statistic!
REFLECTION: What are some things that you could do or *should do* to value movement over screen time?
