10 Nov How Do You Maintain Work-Life Balance?
I don’t believe in work-life balance. ⚖️
To me, work-life balance is impossible because you’re trying to be all things to all people. This is how burnout happens and you begin to lose control of the things that matter most to you.
For example, let’s take my family’s Disney trip where I didn’t check email or exercise. Balance would indicate an even distribution of weight between work, sleep, family, fitness and friends.
Instead, I strive to maintain a work-life fusion or work-life focus. I do this by prioritizing what’s important.
💻 If I’m at work, I try to focus 100% on completing my obligations.
👨👩👧👧 If I’m at home, I try to focus 100% on being in the moment with my family and loved ones.
